Grants
A community foundation is
comprised of many charitable
funds. Each fund has a purpose that is specified
by the donor. Some charitable funds have restrictions
placed on the scope of grants, such as scholarships
or organization endowments. However, some charitable
funds have a broad purpose or are unrestricted
in grant making.
The Community Foundation of Shelby
County welcomes applications from organizations
in or serving the Shelby County, Ohio area for
its annual
grant program. Unrestricted and Field of
Interest charitable funds participate in the
grant program. Most other charitable funds do
not have a grant application or process; grants
are distributed according to the purposes of
those funds.
Aside from seeking grants from
existing charitable funds, a not-for-profit
organization or an individual may establish
an organization
endowment to support the operations and
programs of a specific organization.
